Each campaign has 3 tabs — **Config**, **Design**, and **Preorder products** — to cover everything from display rules to payment options. *** ### Step 1 — Create a campaign 1. Go to **Preorder** in the app sidebar 2. Click **Create campaign**

3. Give your campaign a name (for your reference only — customers won't see it) 4. Work through the 3 tabs below, then click **Save** → **Publish**

{% hint style="info" %} 📸 **\[IMAGE]** Config tab — button content, preorder settings, and schedule fields. {% endhint %} #### Button & Message Customize the text on the Preorder button (default: **"Preorder"**) and add an optional message displayed just below it — useful for setting expectations like delivery timeframes. #### Preorder settings Control exactly when the Preorder button appears to shoppers: * **Always show Preorder** — button is always visible, even when items are in stock * **Show only when in stock** — button shows while stock is available, disappears when sold out * **Show when out of stock** — button replaces "Add to cart" only after inventory hits zero Need to cap how many preorders you accept? Enable **Limit inventory** and set a maximum quantity. #### Schedule Set a **start date** and/or **end date** to automatically run the campaign for a fixed window. Leave both blank to keep it active until you manually unpublish. #### Estimated ship date Let customers know when to expect their order: **Unknown**, a period of **X days after checkout**, or a specific **Fixed date**. This appears on the product page and in confirmation emails. #### Fulfillment settings Choose how Shopify handles these orders: **Unfulfilled** (standard), **On Hold**, or **Scheduled** (for deferred fulfillment workflows). #### Payment * **Pay in full** — customers pay the full price at checkout. You can optionally add a **Preorder discount** (percentage or fixed amount, requires Shopify Payments). * **Partial payment (Deposit)** — customers pay a deposit upfront. You collect the remaining balance manually from Shopify Admin when you're ready to fulfill. {% hint style="warning" %} Deposits are not refunded automatically if an order is cancelled. You'll need to process refunds manually in Shopify Admin. {% endhint %} {% hint style="info" %} 📸 **\[IMAGE]** Payment config — Pay in full vs Partial payment, with deposit amount and due date options. {% endhint %} #### More options * **Preorder badge** — show a badge on product images to highlight preorder status * **Preorder note** — add a custom note that appears in the cart, checkout, and order emails * **Order & Customer tags** — automatically tag preorder orders and customers for easy filtering in Shopify Admin * **Translate** — localize button text, messages, and payment labels for international stores *** ### Tab 2: Design Style the Preorder button and message to match your brand. Changes appear instantly in the live preview panel on the right.

{% hint style="info" %} 📸 **\[IMAGE]** Design tab — style options on the left, live product page preview on the right. {% endhint %} Pick **Use theme default style** to keep things consistent with your existing "Add to cart" button, or switch to **Customize** to set your own colors, font, border, padding, and gradient. *** ### Tab 3: Preorder products Choose which products or variants this campaign applies to.

Search by product name, or browse by **Collection** 3. Expand a product row to select only specific variants (size, color, etc.) 4. Click **Continue** → **Save** {% hint style="warning" %} Each variant can only belong to one active campaign at a time. If you try to publish a campaign with overlapping products, you'll see a conflict error — remove the duplicate variant from one campaign to continue. {% endhint %} *** ### Publish your campaign Once all 3 tabs are set up, hit **Publish**. Your Preorder button will go live on your storefront within a few seconds. Want to pause without losing your setup? Click **Unpublish** — your campaign stays saved and can be reactivated anytime.
